Meet Bria Goode.
I am a Full Spectrum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Placenta Encapsulator with a profound dedication to enhancing reproductive health and justice. Born in the DMV area and currently residing in Atlanta, GA, I have been serving the Atlanta community since 2021 and have been actively involved in reproductive health since 2017 as a peer educator, researcher, and political advocate. I hold a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland College Park.
As a curly-haired, faith-driven, African American woman, I am deeply passionate about addressing health disparities and improving access to reproductive services. I am committed to ensuring that individuals feel heard, seen, and empowered, and at peace through informed decision-making and respect for bodily autonomy. My mission is to dismantle health disparities within marginalized communities and create a world where equity and equality in reproductive health are accessible to all, with a particular focus on Black and Brown communities.
Through In Your Corner Doula Services, my goal is to equip you with the knowledge and support necessary to make informed decisions about your reproductive health. I am here to unearth your inner strength, bring ease and comfort to your journey, and provide a safe space for your authentic self. I am dedicated to supporting, uplifting, encouraging, and informing you throughout the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare. Know that I will always be in your corner, ensuring that anything is possible.
Our Services.
-
I meet with you (and your partner, if applicable) at your home for prenatal appointments to build rapport, educate you on how to best prepare for labor, birth, and postpartum, and provide a space for you to share your needs, fears, hopes, and questions about the process. I offer continuous support during labor, birth, and the initial few hours postpartum. This includes verbal and nonverbal reminders to breathe, affirmations, comforting touch and other comfort measures, invitations to change positions, and communication support between you and care providers and/or your partner. Birth support also includes 1-2 postpartum visits to check in, share information or referrals (as needed), and process the birth experience. I support births in hospitals, birth centers, and at home.
-
I offer in-home postpartum support during the initial weeks and months after birth to help you navigate the significant transition of welcoming new life, whether you are parenting or not. My support includes preparing or coordinating meals and nutrition, providing information on postpartum healing, sharing newborn care tips, and connecting you with mental health professionals or other service providers as needed.
-
I provide compassionate loss support for individuals who have experienced any type of pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion. This includes offering my presence in a clinic or at home, assisting with comfort measures, and helping you plan for recovery or aftercare. Additionally, I support you in processing your experience, offer referrals to further support if needed, and provide guidance on postpartum care and recovery.
-
I offer comprehensive, evidence-based classes for individuals or groups to prepare soon-to-be parents for the transformative experience of childbirth and parenthood. By providing knowledge, skills, and insights, I enable individuals to make informed choices regarding their birthing journey. The education sessions cover a wide range of topics, including creating a birth plan, stages of labor, comfort measures and coping techniques, medical interventions, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. These classes offer practical guidance and encouragement to expectant parents, fostering a sense of confidence and empowerment.

I offer various placenta services to support your postpartum healing journey or to create a unique keepsake for you and your baby.
Placenta Encapsulation: This involves cleaning, steaming, dehydrating, and grinding your placenta into a powder, which is then placed into capsules. These pills are taken in the first few weeks postpartum to help balance hormones.
Placenta Tincture: A liquid extract made from a small amount of your placenta, which is left to steep in 80-100 proof alcohol for six weeks. The tincture is stored in a 2 oz dropper bottle and is typically used after your capsules are finished, providing long-term hormonal balance.
Placenta Art: This process involves coloring your placenta with food-grade inks and imprinting it on paper. The artwork is then framed, creating a beautiful keepsake.
